Bitpen: Only the best – for durability and sustainability
At Bitpen, we consistently rely on high-quality materials and precise manufacturing – because reliable self-storage requires robust, honest hardware. Every component serves a clear purpose and is selected based on function, durability, and sustainability.

Anodized, milled aluminum for the Bitpen mini
The Bitpen mini's housing is made of CNC-machined aluminum. This ensures precise fits, low weight, and high torsional rigidity. The anodized finish increases corrosion and scratch resistance, improves grip, and gives the device a lasting, premium look. Aluminum dissipates heat efficiently – ideal for comfortable handling, even during extended use.
Hardened components for maximum service life
High hardness levels and wear-resistant geometries enable clean, durable markings on stainless steel or titanium plates. Where friction and pressure occur, we use hardened parts to minimize play and ensure precision.
Recycled PP from old plastic bottles
Our PP components are manufactured from recycled polypropylene – obtained, for example, from old colored plastic bottles and processed into pure granules. Controlled injection molding produces dimensionally stable, lightweight, and robust components with consistent quality. Recycled PP reduces the use of primary raw materials and lowers the CO₂ footprint – without compromising on function or durability.

Stainless steel and titanium for wallets and backups
- Stainless steel: Corrosion-resistant, fireproof, and pressure-resistant – ideal for long-term seed backups. Perfect in combination with the Bitpen engraving tip.
- Titanium: Even lighter, more refractory and corrosion-resistant with outstanding strength and durability – for particularly demanding environments and maximum service life.
- Protocol-neutral, secure: Regardless of the seed standard used (e.g. BIP39), metal backups ensure the highest physical resilience.

Conclusion
Bitpen stands for simplicity and uncompromising material quality: anodized, milled aluminum for the Bitpen mini, hardened parts for high-stress components, recycled PP from old plastic bottles for functional lightweight parts, and stainless steel and titanium for wallets and backups. This is how we combine precision, robustness, and environmental responsibility – for hardware you can rely on for the long term.
